Celebrating 70 Years of Faith, Legacy, and Community
For seven decades, Christ United Presbyterian Church has stood as a beacon of hope and a place of belonging in the heart of San Diego. From our founding to this milestone year, we have been a congregation shaped by faith, forged by community, and committed to justice.
Our story is inseparable from the legacy of Rev. Dr. George Walker Smith, the first African American elected to public office in San Diego, whose leadership planted deep roots of civic engagement alongside spiritual formation.
Seventy years is a testimony. It is the fruit of generations who prayed when the way wasn't clear, who gave when resources were scarce, and who believed when belief was costly. It is choir voices raised in worship, deacons who served the least of these, elders who guided with wisdom, and members who simply showed up Sunday after Sunday to be the church.
As we celebrate this anniversary, we do so not merely by looking back, but by looking forward. With our current pastoral leadership, Dr. Kerry Allison, we are destined to impact our community with the love of God.
We give thanks for seventy years of God's faithfulness, and we step boldly into what's next, continuing to be a congregation rooted in Scripture, committed to our neighbors, and open to all who seek a spiritual home.

Free Shredding Event
FREE SHREDDING EVENT from 1:00pm-3:00pm in the church parking lot. Hosted by CUPC’s Community Life and Men’s Fellowship committees!
CPR & AED Class
Carole Foster and Alphonso Kee would like to offer the congregation a class on CPR and AED training. The training is scheduled for May 2nd at 12:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.
The cost is $55.00 each and the deacons will pay $15.00 of the cost per person.
Sign-ups and payment are required in advance to submit an accurate headcount to the instructor. A bag lunch will be provided.

Presbyterian Women’s Fashion Show
CUPC Presbyterian Women are delighted to invite you to our “A Prism of Color & Light” Fashion Show where faith, fashion, and community come together in a beautiful showcase of talent, creativity, and love of the Lord.
This unique event takes place on Sunday, April 26 @ 2:30 pm in GWS Fellowship Hall.
